SRAM Force XPLR AXS – RED's younger brother in a new version

After describing the new SRAM Rival, it's time for its older and more advanced brother - SRAM Force. This time we take a closer look at both the 1×13 gravel version of the XPLR and the 2×12 road version. Is this just a facelift compared to the previous generation or a real rebuild? Definitely the latter - Force has reached a new level

Force XPLR 1×13 – gravel kicks into high gear

The XPLR version was designed for gravel and mixed routes. The biggest change? 13-speed drive. Many skeptics asked: why 13 translations? The answer is simple - for greater scope and smoother cadence.

  • 10-46 cassette: allows for fast stretches on flat terrain as well as climbing steep hills - without losing the pedaling rhythm.

  • Full Mount (UDH) derailleur: mounted directly to the frame, without a classic hanger. It works faster, more precisely and is more resistant to impacts.

  • Flattop chain: specially adapted to 13 rows, ensures stiffness and durability.

This solution will especially appeal to people who value the simplicity of a single-top and want to have a "lifebuoy" for more difficult conditions.

Force AXS HRD – braking at its best

One of the biggest advantages of the new Force are the brakes. AXS HRD Shift-Brake System is a completely new ergonomics:

  • Braking with one finger - both from the handles and from the lower grip.

  • Adjustment adapted to a wider range of hands.

  • Elimination of the risk of pinching fingers during sudden braking.

  • Additional buttons on the grips to control the counter - a solution that cannot be found in cheaper ones Rivalu.

Force AXS 2×12 – road / all-road with full culture

A new 2×12 version has been prepared for asphalt fans. This is a set for those who want precision and flexibility in shifting:

  • rear.

  • Brakes with the same excellent ergonomics as in the gravel XPLR.

Compatibility at a glance

  • Force XPLR 1×13: requires UDH mount, 10-46 cassette, Full Mount derailleur, Flattop chain.

  • Force 2×12: classic derailleur hanger, X-Range with 46/33 or 48/35 pairs, cassettes 10-28/30/33/36.

  • Wheels: If you have an XDR freehub – you are ready for 10T cassettes. In the case of HG, replacing the bobbin case is usually enough.

What to choose for the KOLORIDE frame?

  • Asphalt / fast cruising: Force AXS 2×12 – wide range, smooth operation, precision and small jumps between gears.

  • Gravel / mixed routes / expeditions: Force XPLR 1×13 – single deck simplicity, great range, solid UDH mounting and smooth operation.
