New SRAM drive groups in Colorado
In our configurator you will already find a full palette of the latest SRAM groups. The gravel debuted Rival XPLR 1×13 with a 10–46 cassette and Full Mount assembly for UDH, and in all-road and road — the improved Rival AXS 2×12 with the X-Range philosophy. Check which configuration to choose for titanium or carbon Coloride frames.
What's all the fuss about?
SRAM in the new version of Rival did two things really well:
- gotmore useful gears and a more solid gearbox mount (XPLR 1×13 + UDH/Full Mount).
- has retained the proven 2×12, but with noticeably better brake feel and faster gears.
The result? Real progress from the first kilometers — especially in handle ergonomics and braking modulation.
Rival XPLR 1x13 — one tabletop, a lot of possibilities
If you love mixed routes, monorail and smooth rhythm, this is it.
- → wide range without "holes" in the lower gears. The driveways are less scary, and you keep a quiet cadence on a flat one.
- → mounted , without a classic hook. You gain the stiffness and precision that make the difference when a bike hits the bone on the gravel.
- the gear → shifter changes gears confidently, without "hesitation", which you can just feel in the field.
Notepractical: All of our Coloride titanium and carbon frames have this option — so assembly is quick and hassle-free.

"Game changer" in braking
That's the part you feel the most.
- are more ergonomic and require noticeable for effective braking (you gain on long descents and when your hands are tired).
- has become predictable and easier to feel — also with hoods.
- is trivially simple: you can adjust the distance of the handle to your hand in one movement.
Subjectively? Braking in the new Rival is at a level that was previously lacking — and that putsit dangerously close to the top sensations.
AXS 2×12 — known X-Range, better feeling
For those who want precision and flexibility on asphalt.
- front and rear — it is easier to "harden" the gear when accelerating and relieve the legs in the driveway just as quickly.
- (e.g. 46/33 or 48/35 with 10-30, 10-33, 10-36 cassettes) → small jumps between gears, wide range and smooth cadence without nervous jumps.
- as in gravel: less clamping force, better control over the entire lever stroke.

What Sebastian noticed on the route
"Option and new . With a cassette, it definitely expands the possibilities in the mountains, without losing liquidity on the flat. The lower ratios are dense — great for cadence and monoblatt lovers. The derailleur runs very smoothly, without moments of ‘hesitation’.
An important change is — not every frame supports it, but there is full compatibility in titanium and carbon Koloride.
this is a real breakthrough: more ergonomic handles, more pleasant to touch rubbers, and significantly less force is required for braking. The reaction is immediate. Subjectively — Rival braking quality ≈ top red. A big plus for easy access to the reach adjusting screw.
You can also see the progress: the brakes as in 1×13, and the gears (front/rear) work faster and smoother. You can feel the difference both when accelerating and on climbs. In the ‘cheaper’ group, we get quality transferred from the highest components."
Compatibility — at a glance
- : requires ; cassette , new derailleur , chain matched to 13 rows.
- : classic gear hook; X-Range in pairs of 46/33 or 48/35 crowns and 10-28/30/33/36 cassettes.
- : if you have a drum — you are ready for cassettes with the smallest 10T rack. With HG, it is usually enough to replace the drum.
Which Rival to choose for your Koloride bike?
- — wide range, small jumps, work culture.
- — simplicity of monoblock, smoothness at the bottom, "lifebuoy" 46T on a steep, solid installation to the UDH.
But you can also choose freely, just as you like, without categorization.

Quick FAQ
If it does , yes. All Coloride frames in titanium and carbonie offer this option.
No. The cassette and rear derailleur must be of the same "type" (12 of 12, 13 of 13). The chain is universal.
No — this is a function from higher groups. In Rival, you get great ergonomics and braking.
For cassettes starting with — . With HG, it is usually enough to replace the drum.
What is the weight of the entire drive group?
SRAMRival XPLR AXS 1×13 (with axle power meter) 2.961 g
SRAM Rival 2×12 (with axle power meter) 2.993 g
Finally — why consider Coloride on the new rival?
Because the new Rival-e really changes the driving experience, and our frame allows you to use it without combining. If you want a lightweight, refined bike for years — let's put your Koloride on a new group and choose the ratios for your routes.
In the next post we will look at Force —what it brings over Rival and for whom it is worth taking a step higher.
