Alicante – a good choice for a bicycle trip
The choice of Alicante was a bull's-eye. Firstly, it was warm (we rode in January), secondly, great views, thirdly, surprisingly good cycling infrastructure and all kinds of routes.
In the very center of Alicante, you can move smoothly along the extensive, well-kept and surprisingly empty network of bicycle paths. Maybe because locals get on scooters more often and tourists flock to beautiful beaches and piers?
Perfect views, serpentines and gravel roads
Outside the city there were hills and hills where you could easily gain some nice elevation gains. When it comes to the surface, we had a choice between asphalt serpentines and amazing, perfectly wide gravel roads stretching for kilometers. We found great places also thanks to our photographer from Disenyo y Foto. And so our work came down to us having a great time and the photographer trying to keep up with us.
In search of good shots, we reached the beautiful Embalse del Amadorio dam and the Puente de los 5 Ojos bridge, where we took photos from the drone. The area around Busot and the hills favored especially by road enthusiasts, abandoned railway stations, atmospheric towns with buildings with colorful facades, such as the seaside Villajoyosa. During the flight, we drank the obligatory espresso or the popular sweet cafe bombon and grabbed some Spanish tapas. Three full days of shooting didn't allow us to explore the routes for long, but it gave us a taste of what the area has to offer.

favorite route around Agos
One of the most interesting rounds led along an old railway route full of bridges, viaducts and endless, dark tunnels. We covered over 50 km in full sun (24C) and in the shade of orange, olive and pomegranate trees. The destination of the ride was the town of Agost, famous for its traditional pottery and church bells. On the day we visited, celebrations were taking place with a march of notables, young people in traditional costumes and a brass band. The musicians played loudly for us, and we planned our further route with café y tostadas con tomate and freshly squeezed orange juice.

selection of a bicycle saddle
Remember girls, saddles are always over 150cm wide. Because women have wider sit bones than men, they require support in different places. We recommend an excellent book: "Selection of a bicycle saddle" by Tamara Górecka - Werońska and Paweł Weroński - we have it in a paper version. We invite you to read while testing Koloride and common setups.
We also immortalized this trip in short films available on Koloride You Tube.
