We are stationed in the Wielkopolski National Park.
Here we have our home, office, workshop, and a forest outside our window. Here we bring to life and test all of our ideas. It only takes 5 minutes to test the equipment we install in Koloride bikes on the nearby gravel roads. We would be happy to tell you about our prototype experience!
The first tests were in the Canaries, the second 15 km outside Poznań.
The undulating moraine landscape favored us, and we couldn’t complain about the lack of diverse terrain. Late autumn, and we were testing the bike on the Gats strap paired with a multi-speed hub, which performed perfectly in challenging weather conditions. Then we moved on to the second stage of our exam, replacing the strap with a chain. The traditional drivetrain also performed excellently.
Tested, approved.
We can confidently say that the frame performs excellently both with the strap and the chain. We took the bike through snow, mud, sand, gravel, roots, and asphalt. Long and short routes. During intense training sessions and more relaxed outings. The result?
Riding the Koloride bike is comfortable in a slightly elevated, versatile position. Thanks to the electronics, the ride is super smooth. Pirelli tires ensure fantastic grip, while the RockShox suspension handles bumps, potholes, and rough terrain exceptionally well.
The tests ended successfully, and we have bikes in two drive variants:
For the strap version:
- Gates Carbon Drive belt
- Gates 46 – 22 sprockets
- Shimano Alfine di2 hub
- Shimano GRX di2 shifters
- GRX BR-RX810 brakes
For the chain version:
- Complete Shimano GRX 817 1x11s Di2 groupset
The bikes roll on Pirelli Gravel RC tires and DT Swiss G540 rims. Additionally, they feature the indestructible DT 350 hub with Sapim spokes, assembled by the wheel builders at Lemonbikec.eu. Let’s not forget about the ZIPP Service Course 70 Ergo handlebar with Supacaz Super Sticky Kush tape and the Selle Italia Model X, Superflow L saddle.
