Preparations for a Bikepacking Expedition. - Koloride

Preparations for a Bikepacking Expedition.

For an adventurous cyclist, mounting handles are one of the most crucial things. Today we will tell you about them in the context of preparations for a bikepacking vacation.

Mounting handles – important to have.

We admit that we are not fans of backpacks while riding. However, we want your bike to accompany you in many situations, including trips. That’s why we offer a maximum number of mounting screws as standard, allowing you to attach mudguards, rear and front racks, a tool bag, three water bottles, bikepacking bags or pouches, and a kickstand.

For shorter trips,

you will need: a water bottle cage, a so-called half-fender that can be mounted on screws, and a frame bag attached with Velcro or screws on the top tube near the head tube. There’s always the option to attach a practical, detachable saddle bag – a small tool kit that’s worth having on any occasion.

For longer journeys,

there are more mounting options. You can mount water bottles in traditional frame cages but also under the frame. A rack with panniers, a large saddle bag, a large frame bag covering the entire frame if you want to conquer the world or mix them in any configuration. Either way, there will definitely be space for a hammock.

In Koloride, the following mounting options are possible:

Small bags:
  • Tool kits – a small saddle bag under the seat. Quick release, so you can take it with you easily;
  • Handle bag – mounted on the handlebars;
  • Triangles, tubes, or half-fenders on the frame near the head tube for a small, handy tool kit, a phone holder, etc.;
  • Triangles, tubes, or half-fenders under the downtube.

Large bags:

  • Medium and large capacity saddle bags;
  • Large handle bag;
  • Large fenders under the frame.

Mounting panniers on a rack:

In our offer, you will find the Ortlieb Quick Rack Alu Black rear rack and the Ortlieb Rack 3 QL3 rear rack. Plus, Ortlieb bags are also available.

Remember to navigate in this sea of possibilities primarily based on your own needs and preferences. Fortunately, they can change, and Koloride bikes will always keep up with them.
