01

Drive: Staying true to tradition or embracing the spirit of the times?

Until recently, the debate over the best gravel drive system revolved around the choice between 1x or 2x, focusing mainly on optimal gear range and smooth gear shifting, chain tension and stability, as well as its maintenance. Koloride turned the tables by introducing the option of using a belt drive in gravel bikes. This solution will surely be loved by all who opt for riding in all seasons, especially over long distances.

02

Rigid fork or suspension?

The answer to this question depends on where you want to take your new bike. The Koloride frame design allows for the installation of both a rigid fork and a suspension fork. If you're more inclined towards asphalt, gravel, and forest trails, choose a carbon fork. If you're more likely to head onto rocky and bumpy trails, don't hesitate and go for a suspension fork.

03

Handlebar choice

First, consider what type of biker you are, then choose the handlebar. Beginner gravel riders who prefer a more upright position that is typical of riding on urban or mountain bikes should consider a flat bar. Those who prioritize a more aerodynamic position or greater grip options should opt for a drop bar. The frame remains the same.

04

What about the drivetrain?

It all depends on your needs. If you choose a chain, you decide between two giants: SRAM and Shimano. Here, the question also arises whether you fancy an electronic gear-shifting system or you prefer to stick with traditional mechanics. If you opt for a belt, we have multi-speed Shimano Alfine hubs for you. Here, you can also consider the option of an electronic gear-shifting system.

05

Wheels and tires

Wheels and tires with treads tailored to your riding style pose yet another choice. The tire range is wide, but with us, you'll find options tailored to your roads. Remember, the wider the tread, the greater the riding comfort. Hand-built wheels from Lemonbike and high-quality aluminum rims from DT Swiss guarantee quality for years. And if you want to increase riding comfort and reduce the weight of your bike, it's worth considering the option of carbon wheels, that will provide excellent performance and durability.

06

Saddles

Phew, just a bit more! The best way to set up the saddle is to attend a bike fitting. A good bike fitter will check the positioning of your sit bones and select the appropriate seat width. The rest depends on your preferences. Ladies: remember that saddles adapted to your physique should usually have a width above 145mm.
